About Dr. Afanur Rahman Adnan

Dr. Afanur Rahman Adnan is a neurosurgery specialist. He currently works at the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital.

Dr. Afanur spent his childhood and teenage years in Goran, Khilgaon, Dhaka. His ancestral home is in Daldali village, Bholahat, Chapainawabganj (Rajshahi Division), and his maternal family home is in Kenduabo village, Palash, Narsingdi. He passed his SSC from Motijheel Government Boys' High School and his HSC from Notre Dame College. He earned his MBBS from Dhaka Medical College, then completed advanced training in neurosurgery at the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital and earned a Master of Surgery (MS) in Neurosurgery.

Dr. Afanur has long experience in diagnosing, treating and operating on neurological conditions. For brain tumors, spine tumors, pituitary tumors, nerve tumors, stroke, bleeding in the brain, head and spine injuries and pain, paralysis, spinal disc diseases, slipped vertebrae (listhesis), nerve compression from various causes and congenital conditions of the head and spine, he gives patients careful guidance, advice and treatment, and operates where needed. Alongside conventional neurosurgery, he is experienced in microscopic, endoscopic and minimally invasive neurosurgery.
